While here in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, we also received the remnants of Tropical Storm Irene damage to our infrastructure was very minimal unlike the damage that occurred in the central and southern parts of our state.

Our Foliage Season is now under way and Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom business’ are open and awaiting your arrival.

It is reported by many, that this foliage season should be second to no other in our area even though we think that we have the best show of colors in New England each and every year.

If you have never been as far north in Vermont, the Northeast Kingdom awaits you with open arms. Our area has not changed in many years and contains the largest land tracts open to the public. You will enjoy riding down our main roads and thru some of the smallest towns, villages and gores in the state of Vermont. Here in the Northeast Kingdom you will not find the hustle and bustle, which you find in other parts of our state.

If you feel adventurous one can visit one of our many wildlife management areas and travel the back roads while taken in the sights that we have to offer including a moose or two and other wildlife.

Visit the Nulhegan Basin Division of the Silvio O. Conte National Fish and Wildlife Refuge located just outside Island Pond. Here you can visit the ‘Basin” and some of the areas best overlooks in the state. Foliage here is no better than anywhere else.

So what are you waiting for? Come on up and visit the Northeast Kingdom and the Island Pond area. We are sure you will not be disappointed in your visit to our area durning and after the Foliage Season. and we are sure once you visit us you will be back again.
