My father was born and raised in Island Pond. He and his brothers, sister and parents lived on Back Street for years. I think most of the family has since passed away or moved to larger towns. My Dad was Ray Barnes.

I live in Southern VT. Down here, people used to be very friendly and you would get a wave out of everyone passing by. Not anymore! When we are in Island Pond, it takes me back to the way things used to be down here. I use the web cam's very often to see the most recent snowfall and to decide if the sledding will be good. If anyone from Island Pond knows of a family by the name of Sadleir, I would be interested in any information they may have as to the burial place of my grandmother, Maud Sadleir. Her father Malcolm's birthplace was Dixville, Quebec, Canada. She was born in Island Pond in 1897. Her married name was Damon. I have been hoping to visit Island Pond for some time now to research her but have been unable for one reason or another.
