The Clyde River Hotel located in Island Pond, Vermont was formerly known as the "Essex Hotel." Built in 1866 it remains basically as it was back then. The Hotel itself straddles the Clyde River, which is the outlet for Island Pond (the lake) whose banks are only 100 feet away from the front door of the hotel. It's hard wood floors still have a fresh look shine to them, along with the "Grand Room" the interior looks as it did years ago.

We are also only a half an hour’s drive to the Craftsbury Outdoor Center, which offers some of the finest cross-country skiing in Vermont.

With the arrival of autumn the breathtaking views of world famous foliage goes without saying. The fall season also offers some of the best hunting around for deer, bear, moose, and upland game birds.
